Every woman desire is to be comfortable with her body, to feel beautiful and attractive. A beautiful and balanced body definitely depends on the breast, symbol of femininity. During the first consultation I carefully examine the breasts in order to understand their current position, size and proportion. In this way I can find a customized solution in relation also to my patient’s wishes and achievable results. Implants and sizers are tried with a bra during the consultation room and on the mirror to discuss the desired shape and volume. My patient and I also will see many photographs in order to understand and decide together the possible final outcome. I try to give the breast a natural and well-defined shape, a breast that “fits” well and that, like a dress, is consistent with the woman’s personality.
I make incisions in predetermined locations, often in areas where scarring will be less noticeable, such as the inframammary fold (where the breast meets the chest wall), around the areola (the dark area surrounding the nipple), or in the armpit. The choice of incision location depends on factors such as the patient’s anatomy and the type of implant being used.
I carefully and delicately create a pocket either behind the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle (pectoral muscle) and inserts the implant into the pocket. The placement of the implant depends on factors such as the patient’s anatomy, the desired outcome, and the type of implant being used. My personal choice when possible is place the implants under the mammary tissue when possible in order to preserve the anatomy , to have have quick and painless recovery. But when necessary (breast tissue less then 2.5 cm ) then the implants will have to placed submuscolar
Once the incision is closed, I may apply a drainage for few hours.
The surgery, which i perform general anesthesia, takes one hour and it can be done as a day case. Upon awakening, it is normal for a light swelling to appear and vanish in a few days. After about seven days, I meet my patient again in order to evaluate the healing process and to remove the small stitches excluding the ones that will vanish naturally. For the following month I recommend to wear a sports bra that supports the breasts without excessive pressure.
Rest is very important, for the first week it is necessary to limit physical activity with upper arms and avoid driving. The patient will fully return normal after about four weeks. The result? The woman can appreciate her new shapes and volumes , a breast that makes her body beautiful, attractive and seductive in harmony with the rest of it.
