With the first appointment I try to understand the patient’s health status, why she chose for this surgery and her expectations. I illustrate possible complications, realistically achievable results and I am always available to answer every question.
During the surgery, first I make an incision at the inner side of the arms that starts few inches far form the elbow up to the armpit, then I lift the skin to remove the excess fat and I carefully place it again on the arm keeping .
Most of time liposuction is used in combination to remove fat and shape the arms in the triceps and deltoids area and near the back of the axillae considering the procedure as a tightening and shaping of the whole area arms , upper back and axillae. Finally, I stitch the incision with internal stitches. The length and pattern of incisions depend on the amount of skin and fat to be removed and the desired outcome. The technique acquired over many years of experience allows me to minimize the visibility of scars, in fact majority of the time I perform a short scar that is easily hidden into a short sleeve shirt.
Recently I combine the use of Renuvion to further minimise the length of the scar , with the Renuvion I can give skin retraction in the arm near the elbow area, giving definition to the triceps area . A liposuction can be used in combination when the arms need not only skin excess but also fat removal in order to reduce the circumference.
Upon awakening, such as in any operation, swellings and bruises may occur to disappear within two or three weeks. Depending on the patient’s state of health, I suggest the rest period to observe and for how much time you have to stay away from work. During the first few days it is important to keep the wounds dry and the medical treatment intact.
A few days after the surgery I meet again the patient to appreciate, together with her, the results achieved. At the end of the aesthetic path, my patient will see her arms again smooth, toned and in equilibrium in a newly young body.
